MailerLite vs Mailchimp
By Cathy Riddell · Prices checked 25 Oct 2026 · Last updated 25 Oct 2026
How this page was made: I compared each vendor’s official pricing and feature pages on 25 Oct 2026. Hands-on test notes are added only after I’ve used the product on a real account; until then they’re marked as pending. My review method.
How do MailerLite and Mailchimp compare at a glance?
| Tool | Best for | Price (official page) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| MailerLite | Small businesses wanting simple, low-cost plans | Free plan (250 subscribers, 2,500 emails/mo); Comfort from US$12/mo; Power from US$25/mo (official page, checked 25 Oct 2026) | Visit MailerLite |
| Mailchimp | Businesses wanting a big-name tool with a large integrations ecosystem | Free plan (250 contacts); paid plans priced by contacts: check current pricing (official page, checked 25 Oct 2026) | Visit Mailchimp |
Which free plan is better?
On paper they start in the same place. MailerLite’s Free plan includes 250 subscribers, 2,500 emails a month, 2 user seats, 3 active automations, 1 website and 1 landing page. Mailchimp’s Free plan shows a limit of 250 contacts. Both sites were checked 25 Oct 2026.
How does paid pricing work?
MailerLite says pricing is “based on usage, not feature access”: every paid plan gets the full toolset and you pay more only for a bigger list or more sending. Comfort starts at US$12/mo (10× your subscriber tier in monthly emails) and Power starts at US$25/mo with unlimited emails, unlimited seats and 24/7 live chat. Paying yearly saves 10%, and nonprofits get 30% off.
Mailchimp’s paid prices change with your contact count and it often shows introductory offers, so I haven’t quoted a figure. Use its pricing calculator with your real list size.
Is there a free trial?
MailerLite offers a 14-day trial of premium features with no credit card required. Mailchimp’s pricing page offers paid plans free for 14 days. Check the terms on each page before you sign up.
Which should a small business choose?
- Choose MailerLite if price matters and you want automations, landing pages and a simple website without paying for higher tiers.
- Choose Mailchimp if you rely on a specific integration or your team already knows it.
