Best Mailchimp alternatives

By Cathy Riddell · Prices checked 25 Oct 2026 · Last updated 25 Oct 2026

Short answer: For most small businesses, MailerLite is the easiest switch: a free plan, then paid plans from US$12/mo with the full feature set. Brevo suits businesses that also send transactional emails or SMS, and its free plan allows up to 300 emails a day. Kit (formerly ConvertKit) is built for creators and has a free plan for up to 10,000 subscribers.

How this page was made: I compared each vendor’s official pricing and feature pages on 25 Oct 2026. Hands-on test notes are added only after I’ve used the product on a real account; until then they’re marked as pending. My review method.

Why do people look for Mailchimp alternatives?

The usual reasons are price as a list grows and wanting features that sit on higher tiers elsewhere. Mailchimp prices by contacts, so the only fair comparison is to price your real list size on each vendor’s calculator. [Cathy to add: her own reasons, e.g. a client migration]

MailerLite: best all-round alternative

Every paid plan gets the full feature set; you pay by subscribers and sending. Free covers 250 subscribers and 2,500 emails a month. Comfort starts at US$12/mo and Power at US$25/mo with unlimited emails and 24/7 live chat (official page, 25 Oct 2026).

Brevo: best for email plus SMS and transactional email

Brevo’s plans run Starter, Standard, Professional and Enterprise. Starter begins at 5,000 emails a month; Standard adds marketing automation, A/B testing and send-time optimisation; Professional starts at 150,000 emails a month and includes 10 seats. Every plan includes transactional email (API and SMTP). The free plan lets you send up to 300 emails a day. Paid prices didn’t load in a readable form when I checked, so see the official pricing page.

Kit: best for creators

Kit’s Free plan covers up to 10,000 subscribers with unlimited landing pages, forms and broadcasts. The Creator plan adds unlimited automations and sequences and was US$390/yr billed yearly for 1,000 subscribers on 25 Oct 2026. Digital product sales carry a 3.5% + 30c fee.

How do I choose?

  1. Price your current list size on each calculator.
  2. Decide if you need SMS or transactional email (Brevo) or creator commerce (Kit).
  3. Use the free plan or trial to send one real campaign before you migrate.
