Best email marketing software for small business

By Cathy Riddell · Prices checked 25 Oct 2026 · Last updated 25 Oct 2026

Short answer: My shortlist: MailerLite for best overall value (free plan, then from US$12/mo with every feature), Brevo for email plus SMS and transactional email, Kit for creators (free up to 10,000 subscribers), and Mailchimp if you need its brand and integrations. Price each one at your real list size before you commit.

How this page was made: I compared each vendor’s official pricing and feature pages on 25 Oct 2026. Hands-on test notes are added only after I’ve used the product on a real account; until then they’re marked as pending. My review method.

How did I choose?

Price at small-business list sizes, what the free plan really includes, automation on entry plans, and how clear the pricing model is. See how I review. Rankings will be revisited after hands-on tests.

What should I check before choosing?

  1. Is pricing by contacts (MailerLite, Mailchimp, Kit) or by emails sent (Brevo)?
  2. Are automations on the plan you can afford?
  3. Do you need SMS, transactional email or digital product sales?
  4. Can you migrate your list and templates easily?

Frequently asked questions

What is the best free email marketing software?

Kit’s free plan covers the most subscribers (10,000); Brevo’s allows up to 300 emails a day; MailerLite’s includes automations and a landing page for 250 subscribers (official pages, 25 Oct 2026).

What is the easiest email marketing tool for beginners?

I’ll confirm this after hands-on tests. MailerLite’s single feature set across paid plans makes its pricing the simplest to understand.
